NaviNet, Inc., a majority-owned operating company of CMGI, Inc., and a provider of private-label Internet access services, today announced the appointment of Paul R. Hamnett to the position of Chief Information Officer.
Hamnett will manage the development of NaviNet's Information Services, including data warehousing and business services that serve the virtual ISP market, an emerging customer segment for the company.
Hamnett brings over 23 years of engineering and business experience to NaviNet, with experience in embedded systems, Internet development, start-up software companies and major international software development projects. Hamnett most recently held the position of COO/CTO of SmartRoute Systems Inc., a provider of real-time traffic information and digital content. He also directed MCI/NewsCorp.'s Platform Engineering, Worldwide Web, and Database Infrastructure Groups and was a Royal Air Force officer and pilot. Adding to his well-rounded background, Hamnett is also a fully qualified accountant (CIPFA England) with experience in computer audits.
